The dentist
You couldnāt make this up!
Susan brings our daughter to the dentist. Sheās eight. Iām still helping her brush her teeth every morning and evening.
Big problems. The dentist was disgusted with me apparently. Iām not brushing her teeth properly and heād like to have a word with me ( #gaslighting #blame-shifting #autocratic ) .
Our daughter had plaque on her front bottom teeth, āreally really badā plaque apparently. In fact itās so bad that my sister got a text from Susan about it because our daughter was in her house overnight just recently. Sheāll be taking over the teeth brushing from now on and thereās absolutely no more candy from now on ( #facade-maintenance #magical-thinking #grandiosity ) .
Analysis
- This is gaslighting. Itās complete nonsense. Itās an attack on me, an attempt to alter my reality by asserting that Iām not looking after the teeth properly ( #gaslighting #manipulation ) .
- Itās controlling ( #control ) .
- Itās jealousy ( #narcissistic-injury ) .
- Itās an assertion of control.
- Itās entitlement that she can bash two people over it ( #entitlement #vitriol ) .
- Itās magical thinking that sheās somehow going to take over because the rest of us are clearly incompetent ( #grandiosity ) . She didnāt, just in case you fell for this BS ( #manipulation ) .
- Further gaslighting is that I get no recognition (not that I want it) for our daughters teeth being in perfect condition (aside from the slim possibility of a little plaque) ( #gaslighting #devaluation ) .
- Itās a lack of empathy that she can just fling this insulting crap at me for her own ego boosting ( #lack-of-empathy #supply ) .
- Itās triangulating the teeth and the dentist to assert her control ( #triangulation #control ) .
- Itās blame-shifting and a lack of accountability. I mean, is Susan, Emmaās mother, not responsible in any way for the condition of her daughters teeth ( #blame-shifting ) .
This is the kinda bullshit that goes on day to day.
