Hair cutting

Secret parenting!

No exaggeration. I cut Emma’s (our daughter) toe nails and finger nails 100% of the time. A couple of times a week. Susan has possibly never done it ( #lack-of-empathy ) .

But here’s a fun fact: I cut her hair too. Nope, I’m not a barber or a hairdresser. When her hair is wet, I just brush it and comb it as best I can until it’s smooth, straight and free from knots. I even have a nice technique for doing this, I grab the thinnest strip of hair I can and run the brush through it, move it out of the way then move across, thin strip after thin strip until we’re good. It’s a little slow but it seems to work quite effectively. Then I just grab a scissors and cut as straight and evenly as I can ( #fawn-response ) .

For context, I’ve no idea how to cut hair. Q: So why do I do it? A: Because Susan won’t bring her to a hairdresser (I’m not sure why and I don’t ask anymore) ( #lack-of-empathy ) . Q: So why don’t I bring her? A: LOL, what a question. To avoid the jealous rage of course ( #fawn-response #narcissistic-rage ) . Q: So, does she not go into a jealous rage when she sees the hair has been cut? A: Nope, she doesn’t seem to notice ( #lack-of-accountability ) . Q: Errr… so does she never ask about the hair at all? A: Nope Q: Eh? A: Yup!
