Buying blinds

Simple?

All we had to do was walk in, choose the fabric and the Roman blinds would arrive and be installed.

For some reason, a number of years passed before the day finally came, the day when we would both share in some future faking towards daft farcical beliefs that we would begin to have a nice home, starting with new Roman blinds in the living room ( #future-faking ) .

Store one. Nothing suitable. Store two. But first coffee. Fair enough. While having the coffee, Susan decided that she wanted a walk. Fair enough ( #control ) . We finished our coffee and instead of hopping into the car and driving to the next blind store, we walked ( #control ) . It rained. It was a long walk. Despite the rain it was hot and sticky.

When we arrived in the door of the store we were literally dripping wet and soaked through. I could sense the hidden WTF reaction from the otherwise friendly staff member as she started to flick through various fabric options. In almost zero time I knew this was going nowhere. It went nowhere. We were there all of maybe 10 minutes. We left and that was that. No blinds yet again ( #manipulation ) . It would be years later before we tried again ( #future-faking ) .
